THE AD DINER OFFERS SMALL BUSINESSES READY-TO-USE ADS ONLINE
Website delivers “Hot advertising from a menu”
What if a small business could go to a website, find a finished TV, radio or print ad for their business, order it up and get it customized with their logo and information within a day, and get it at a fraction of the price they would typically pay an ad agency?
That’s the premise behind the Ad Diner, whose slogan is “hot advertising from a menu”.
The Ad Diner is a new online business that provides small businesses with ready-to-use ads that are customized with their business’s logo and information. The idea is simple–an ad that ran successfully for a small business in one market would probably work just as well for a similar business in a different market.
Unique business model
The Ad Diner’s website (www.AdDiner.com) includes print ads, radio commercials, television spots, billboards, direct mail and complete campaigns. It is currently the only website that offers this variety of ads across numerous industries.
Another unique aspect of the Ad Diner is that the ads come from multiple sources, including award-winning advertising agencies, production companies, and freelancers from across the US and Canada. The Ad Diner currently has over 100 companies signed up as contributors and the list is growing daily. Contributors are paid a royalty when their ads are sold.
The Ad Diner customizes the ads with logos and information provided by the small business. The business gets exclusivity in their market for one year.
Background
Randy Gunter, president of the new venture, has over 20 years experience working at advertising agencies. He’s developed award-winning advertising programs for both Fortune 500 companies and small Mom & Pop operations over the years. “Small business owners have told me that they often feel intimidated by the processes and costs associated with using an ad agency.”
“The Ad Diner resolves many of their concerns," Mr. Gunter continues. "They can see what the ads look like finished and they know the cost up front. This makes the process simpler and there is no pressure or intimidation. Since the ads are sold multiple times to different markets, the cost is spread out, making the individual ads much more affordable than if the businesses were to have them created specifically for them.”
How it works
The process for finding an ad is simple. On the Ad Diner website is a “menu” section (keeping with the diner theme) where small business can view ads in their industry. Once the business chooses an ad that they like, a simple phone call allows the Ad Diner to work one-on-one with the client, customizing the ad content to fit their individual needs. The final files are sent out within 1-2 business days of when the production department receives the materials. The Ad Diner can send the files to the client, or directly to the media outlet.
There is an extensive FAQ section on the website that answers most questions for both the small business and the creative contributor, along with information about commission opportunities for media companies and agencies who sell Ad Diner ads to their clients.
Companies that can use the Ad Diner’s products
Although the Ad Diner’s primary target market is small businesses, there really is no size limitation. The main factor is whether the business is considered “local”. Some larger entities, such as hospitals, banks, and non-profit and government organizations, are still good candidates for the Ad Diner’s products if they primarily advertise at the local level.
Holiday ad campaigns are available
As the holiday season approaches, the Ad Diner has holiday-themed TV and radio spots available. Mr. Gunter says “We currently have some fun holiday ads that are geared toward practically any type of business.”
Ad Diner concept is getting rave reviews
As the business moves past the start-up phase, there is a lot of excitement about the concept. Mr. Gunter explains, “We recently took 2nd place in Dotster’s ‘Next Big Small Business Contest’, a national contest that showcases new businesses with big potential. But more important than that, we’ve heard numerous businesses and creative companies tell us that there is a real void in the market for something like this. It’s a cost-effective option for businesses who may have been cutting back on their advertising budgets, allowing them to now afford highly creative advertising programs. At the same time it helps creative companies generate a new revenue stream through the royalty payments. We’re real pleased with what is happening and are excited as we watch things grow.”
